Babson Park Gnats vote in election

Nov 9th, 2012

BABSON PARK – Uncle Sam (third grade teacher Randy Portwood) worked with Dale R. Fair Babson Park Elementary WGNAT News crew members (l-r) Christina Cunningham, Megan Blankenship and Kiana Perkins as they prepared for Election Day coverage on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Every student participated in the election, including third graders (l-r) Fisher Cain, Terrell Fields, Mason Hixenbaugh, Elijah Atmore and Tayler Barberree, who had just finished voting and proudly displayed their voter ID cards.

The Babson Park results (Obama 176, Romney 260) didn’t impact the national election, but everyone who participated was respectful, enthusiastic and all votes were counted in a timely manner, according to “Supervisor of Elections” Lisa Portwood, a fourth grade teacher.
