Bok Lady Knight Leaders visit Polk Avenue, Hillcrest

May 26th, 2010

LAKE WALES – Members of the Bok Academy “Lady Knight Leaders” visited two elementary schools this week to talk to fifth grade girls about transitioning to middle school next year.

The Lady Knight Leaders visited Polk Avenue Elementary and Hillcrest Elementary. They spoke to groups of fifth grade girls about what to expect in middle school.

“They spoke with great poise, and held the attention of all our fifth grade girls,” said Polk Avenue Principal Gail Quam.

“They talked to the girls about the three As: Academics, Acceptance, and Activities. They shared how the three As can make them successful at any middle school. They also talked about steering clear of the trouble that gossip and drama can cause,” said Quam.

The Lady Knight Leaders program is modeled after the Young Leaders program at Lake Wales High School. The LWHS Young Leaders often visit elementary and middle schools to talk to younger students about challenges and opportunities in their future.
