Bok hosts Parent Technology Night

LAKE WALES – Bok Academy will host a special Parent Technology Night beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17. Bok parents may attend as many as five 20-minute sessions to learn about Nook e-readers; the school’s Overdrive online library; educational websites and apps; social networking; and Facebook 101.

Groups combine for chorus show & dessert buffet

LAKE WALES – Student vocalists of all ages will sing together this weekend in a show that promises to have a very sweet ending! Chorus groups from Lake Wales High, Bok Academy, and Hillcrest Elementary will combine their talents for a spectacular – and sweet – night of singing and dancing with their presentation of “It’s On!”

Workshops combine creativity, learning

LAKE WALES – Bok Academy students are spending three days (April 25-27) in teacher-led workshops that combine creativity with learning. The 20 workshops cover a wide range of topics from “Outdoor Adventures” combining kayaking with science exploration; to “Pop Culture” exploring cultural icons using music, tv and movies; to “Mad Scientist” experiments.
