LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High cross country and track athlete Tyler Nobles accepted a scholarship with Webber International University during a ceremony Thursday (April 26) at the school.
During the fall cross country season, Nobles ran the 5k; during the spring track season, he runs the mile and 2-mile distances.
The WIU Warriors compete in the Sun Conference of the NAIA, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the governing body for about 350 small-college athletics programs. Other Sun Conference schools include Warner University, Southeastern University, South Carolina Beaufort and Embry-Riddle.

LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High School has several community partners who will share their parking lots for graduation guests next week.
LAKELAND – The crowd went wild Tuesday (May 21) when third grader Carlos Salgado (pictured) threw out the first pitch at the Lakeland Flying Tigers baseball game against the Fort Myers Miracles.
LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High’s Special Olympic track and field relay team qualified and participated in the State Summer Games May 17-18 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
