LAKE WALES – Hillcrest Elementary’s Show Choir – Encore – earned a Superior rating at the recent Music USA Festival in Orlando. The Show Choir was evaluated by a panel of three judges.
Encore is made up of fourth and fifth grade students who are selected based on their musical abilities, academic achievement and outstanding behavior. Teacher Cathy Montero is the director.

Polk Avenue hosts first-ever Hispanic Celebration

JHW students ‘Soaring in the Arts’
LAKE WALES – Janie Howard Wilson Elementary musical and visual arts students shared their talents Tuesday (May 14) in a year-end “Soaring in the Arts” performance and exhibition for their school community. Music teacher Micky Caban and art teacher Tiffany Weaver coordinated the event.

Zach Gill signs Warner baseball scholarship
LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High’s Zach Gill signed a baseball scholarship with Warner University during a Thursday morning (May 16) ceremony at the high school.
