Physical Education Coach Nancy Leatherland is leading fourth grade students in the annual bike safety program during regular PE classes.

Students ride bicycles provided by Auburndale Police Department and the University of Florida bike safety grant. The program teaches bicycle and traffic safety principles, and how to avoid high-frequency bicycle accident situations such as: driving bicycles into a roadway without looking in each direction for oncoming vehicles, not watching for cars backing out of driveways, or not recognizing visual barriers.  Other grades K-3 receive bike safety lessons but use tricycles on the safety course.
