LAKE WALES – Hillcrest Elementary fifth grader Aaliyah Anderson was chosen by teachers and the Lake Wales Kiwanis Club as the “Terrific Kid” award recipient for September.
Pictured (l-r) are Aaliyah, her mother Shenelle Sheppard, and Kiwanis representatives Barney Moore and Larry Tonjes, who gave her a certificate and a variety of school supplies.
“Aaliyah was chosen because of her efforts in the classroom and her positive relations with her peers and teachers,” said one of her teachers, Tammy Sheppard. “She is an excellent role model and truly is a terrific kid!”




LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High School has several community partners who will share their parking lots for graduation guests next week.
LAKELAND – The crowd went wild Tuesday (May 21) when third grader Carlos Salgado (pictured) threw out the first pitch at the Lakeland Flying Tigers baseball game against the Fort Myers Miracles.
LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High’s Special Olympic track and field relay team qualified and participated in the State Summer Games May 17-18 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
