LAKE WALES – Teacher Daisy Lopez’s first grade students are learning responsibility and creativity every time they use a new digital camera funded through an online philanthropy program called DonorsChoose.org.
Lopez posted a classroom proposal titled “Stop, Look, Smile!” because she hoped using a digital camera would spark her Hillcrest Elementary students’ imagination. Her students are writing stories and using the camera to take photos to illustrate their stories.
DonorsChoose.org is an online charity connecting donors with classroom proposals and requests.
