Welcome to Hillcrest Elementary!

Dear Hillcrest Family:

  Welcome back students and families.  I extend a special welcome to the newest members of the Hawk family.  I hope that you had a pleasant summer and that you are enjoying the remaining days of summer vacation.  This year, classes will begin for students on Monday, August 20, 2007.

  As parents, stay involved with your son/daughter's education throughout the school year.  Communication is an essential component of a truly successful school/parent partnership.  I encourage you to establish positive communication with your child's teachers.  Please feel free to contact the school at any time should you have any questions or concerns.  We appreciate your feedback.  At Hillcrest, we value your input and we will assist you in any way that we can.  Parents please check our school's website regularly at www.lwcharterschools.com/hillcrest.  Our school calendar will be posted there as well as important announcements throughout the year.

  This year, our school day starts at 8:00 a.m.  Students are expected to be here at that time.  Students are not permitted to remain after school unless they are involved in an activity supervised by a staff member.  Hillcrest students are expected to be prepared for class, participate and work hard.  I also ask that you treat others as you would like to be treated, respecting other students and their personal belongings.  At Hillcrest Elementary School, respecting others is an expectation for everyone.

  As a reminder to parents, similar to last year, if you come on campus you must first check in at the office.  This is to enhance our school's security.  Upon entering the building sign in and obtain a visitor's pass.  Also, please sign out at the main office prior to your departure.  I appreciate your cooperation.

  Mrs. Debbie Hunt, Assistant Principal, and I look forward to working with you during the school year.  Hillcrest Elementary has a dedicated staff that is committed to providing our children with an outstanding education.  Enjoy the rest of your summer, our exciting 2007-08 year is ready to begin!
