LAKE WALES – Families packed the Janie Howard Wilson “science center” last week (Nov. 27) for a fun Science & Technology Night.
Students and parents engaged in hands-on engineering programs designed by the Orlando Science Center. Activity stations included:
- Bernoulli’s Jets: defying gravity using the Bernoulli principle
- Sail Cars: creating a vehicle to travel using wind energy
- · Think for a Robot: programming robots
- Skyscraper 101: constructing buildings
- · Roller Coaster Engineering
- Arches: testing the strength of different types of arches

LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High School has several community partners who will share their parking lots for graduation guests next week.
LAKELAND – The crowd went wild Tuesday (May 21) when third grader Carlos Salgado (pictured) threw out the first pitch at the Lakeland Flying Tigers baseball game against the Fort Myers Miracles.
LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High’s Special Olympic track and field relay team qualified and participated in the State Summer Games May 17-18 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
