LAKE WALES – Janie Howard Wilson Elementary first graders learned about four different businesses and jobs – baking, car sales, the military and dance – during the recent Great American Teach In.
Local employers visited the school to share their knowledge and expertise with students. Studio 6 owner Nicole Almeida demonstrated the Mexican Hat Dance. U.S. Army recruiter Sgt. Jonathan Currea talked about his military experience and passed out pins and bracelets. Jaremiah Anglin rolled up in a shiny white Chrysler 300 from Sorensen Schade Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and talked to students about car safety. Publix baker Susan St. John decorated a cake while students watched, and then everyone sampled the cake afterward!
