LAKE WALES – The mentoring program at Janie Howard Wilson Elementary continues to provide strong role models for students, thanks in large part to volunteers from High Point Church.
The mentors, including Pastor Jack Hilligoss, make weekly visits to talk, eat lunch, and just “hang out” with students. Recently, High Point mentors played a game of Corn Hole during lunch with students Jakobe Pinion (left) and Quinton Williams.
“We are grateful to have these mentors as part of our team at Janie Howard Wilson,” said Title I facilitator April Barnhardt. “They give our students some positive role models beyond their immediate family.”
