Lake Wales FFA hosts Open Bass Tournament

LAKE WALES – Calling all serious fishermen! Lake Wales FFA is planning its Fifth Annual Open Bass Tournament for Saturday, May 22.

The tournament will take place at Camp Mack, beginning at first light. The tournament ends at 2 p.m.

Awards will be: first place 50 percent; second place 30 percent; and third place 20 percent.

Entry fee is $50 per boat. The $10 Big Bass per person is included in the fee. Big bass will pay back 100 percent.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Lake Wales High School FFA, which will receive 30 percent of entry fees. The money will help students attend summer leadership conferences.

    Janie Howard Wilson Elementary chorus and world drummers ended their musical year on a “high note” Tuesday (May 15) with an exciting performance of oldies, Top 40s, inspirational songs and African music for fellow students, faculty and parents.
