LAKE WALES – 2010 graduate of Lake Wales High School, Jaime Barrow has qualified for the 2014 National College Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming that is being held this week, June 15th – 21st. This is Barrow’s second year at the National College Finals Rodeo, in which this competition only takes the top three in each rodeo region event in the country. This year, she placed third in the Southwest College Regional in barrel racing, which landed her a spot in the finals. Last year at the National College Finals Rodeo, Barrow finished in sixth in the nation in the barrel racing and after the first round of this year’s competition, which started on Monday, June 16th, she currently is sitting in second place out of fifty competitors. During the competition, Barrow will make two more runs later this week and the top twelve combined times will move onto the championship round on Saturday night, June 21st.
Jaime Barrow is the best of the best and she is making a name for herself on the big stage in the sport of rodeo competition throughout the country. Currently, she is a senior at Tarleton State University majoring in Economics and she competed in multiple National High School Rodeo Finals throughout her years at Lake Wales High School. Barrow continues to make her parents, Jeff Barrow, who is a Supervisor with Duke Energy and Jennifer Barrow, who is the principal of Hillcrest Elementary of the Lake Wales Charter School System, very proud, along with the entire Lake Wales community, as she continues to have great success during her college career in rodeo competition finals.
