May 26th, 2010

LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High School Legacy Color Guard will host a 2010 Summer Tryouts Camp for students who want to perform with the Color Guard team.

Summer Tryouts Camp will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 14 through Thursday, June 17 in the LWHS band room.

Color Guard is open to both male and female students. The Color Guard team performs alongside the LWHS Marching Highlanders through the fall football season, and at numerous events including community parades and competitions.

Any student who will be attending LWHS in 2010-2011 is eligible to attend this free tryout camp. No experience is needed. Students should come dressed for dance and flag movement.

“The Highlander Band will march over 100 band members in the fall, and the Scottish Unit will have 15 members,” said LWHS Principal Clark Berry. “We are very excited about the growth of our marching band program, and we want to make sure every student who wants to participate has that opportunity.”
