LWHS hosts girls’ district basketball tourney

LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High will host the girls’ Class 5A District 10 basketball tournament beginning Monday (Jan. 28).

Three basketballs

All games will take place in the LWHS gym. Admission is $6 per game. The district tournament schedule is:

  • 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28: #4 Auburndale vs. #1 Lake Wales (home)
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29: #3 Hardee vs. #2 Tenoroc (home)
  • 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 District Championship: Monday’s winner vs. Tuesday’s winner

 

During the tournament, the higher seed is considered the home team. District results were:

  1. Lake Wales 6-0
  2. Tenoroc 4-2
  3. Hardee 2-4
  4. Auburndale 0-6
