LWHS pitcher Cockrell signs with Stetson

LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High baseball player Taylor Cockrell signed a scholarship with Stetson University during a 10 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 15) ceremony at the high school.

Cockrell is both a right-handed pitcher and a corner outfielder/infielder for the LWHS Highlanders.

The Deland-based Stetson Hatters play in the Atlantic Sun Athletic Conference, which includes Jacksonville University, University of North Florida and Florida Gulf Coast University as well as several out-of-state schools.
