LAKE WALES – The Lake Wales High Senior Class and Weikert Ford invite local drivers to “Drive One 4 UR School.”
The test drive event is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (March 3). It will help raise money for 2012 Senior Class expenses such as graduation. Test drives will take place at Weikert Ford on Highway 27.
Ford and Weikert Ford will donate $20 for every individual who test drives any new Ford. Participants must be 18 or older, and have a valid driver’s license. Only one participant per household is eligible to earn the school donation.
This year, another area high school also will be participating. Weikert Ford has promised “something extra” for the school that generates the most test drives on Saturday.
“Drive One 4 UR School” is part of a nationwide event involving hundreds of Ford dealers. Local high schools are eligible to earn up to $6,000 through the test drives.
LAKE WALES – LAKE WALES – Polk Avenue hosted its first-ever Hispanic Celebration earlier this month (May 3) with food, fashion and fun from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Guatemala.
LAKE WALES – Janie Howard Wilson Elementary musical and visual arts students shared their talents Tuesday (May 14) in a year-end “Soaring in the Arts” performance and exhibition for their school community. Music teacher Micky Caban and art teacher Tiffany Weaver coordinated the event.
LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High’s Zach Gill signed a baseball scholarship with Warner University during a Thursday morning (May 16) ceremony at the high school.
