NHS ‘Santas’ surprise neighbors

Dec 21st, 2012

LAKE WALES – Students in the Lake Wales High School National Honor Society decided to “play Santa” this year by planning a surprise for their young neighbors at Our Children’s Academy.

The LWHS students collected more than 100 teddy bears and other stuffed animals, and created special Christmas tags for each animal. Then a small group of NHS members walked from the LWHS campus to the neighboring OCA campus, carrying the gifts in black bags to hide the surprise.

Once the teenagers arrived on the OCA campus, they delivered the stuffed animals to Pre-K, kindergarten and first grade students, who greeted them with big smiles.
