Paint project preps school for first day

LAKE WALES – Janie Howard Wilson Elementary teachers and volunteers gave the campus a “face lift” with some touch-painting earlier this month to prepare for the first day of school on Monday (Aug. 20).

Ezekiel Hayes, a student in the IB program at Lake Wales High School, poses with the re-painted sundial clock face at the base of the school’s flagpole.

Volunteers also re-painted vocabulary words on campus sidewalks. Painters included (front l-r) Michelle Timper, April Barnhardt, Julianna Guerrez-Gomez, Luciana Gomez; (back l-r) Ezekiel Hayes, Alicia Gravel, and Gwendolyn Hayes.
