LAKE WALES – While some parents are scouring store aisles for great deals on glue and pencils, Babson Park parents can smile and relax.
In August 2007 – and every school year since – the Dale R. Fair Babson Park Elementary PTO began providing a complete set of school supplies to every single student. The only item that parents have to supply is a non-rolling backpack.
“This will be the sixth year that our PTO has provided school supplies for all our students,” said Principal Ken Henson. “We appreciate our PTO, and all the volunteers who organize community events and raise money throughout the year to support our school and our programs.”
LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High’s Special Olympic track and field relay team qualified and participated in the State Summer Games May 17-18 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
LAKE WALES –– Hillcrest Elementary kindergarten students are celebrating the end of school by reading their own copies of “Change The World Before Bedtime” by Mark Kimball Moulton, Josh Chalmers and Karen Good.
LAKE WALES – Age and experience triumphed over youth and energy when Janie Howard Wilson staff faced fifth graders in the elementary school’s annual spring softball game last week. The adults won the game 22-8.
