Reading classes spread holiday cheer

Dec 19th, 2012

LAKE WALES – Two reading classes from Lake Wales High shared some holiday cheer last Friday (Dec. 14) with residents of local nursing homes.

The boys’ reading class visited Savannah Court to sing Christmas carols and donate student-made wreaths. On the same day, the girls made a similar visit to Grace Healthcare, to sing and deliver wreaths.

“Our students did this to give of themselves during the holiday season,” said reading teacher Tammy Shields, who coordinated the project with fellow teacher Dena Elmore. “Both groups were well received by the patients and employees at the facilities.”
