Our school system participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. NSLP provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free breakfast and lunch to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.
Our LWCS schools send School Meals applications home at the beginning of every school year. However, you may apply at any time during the school year. Submit the application directly to your child’s school. If you have questions or concerns, please check with the Foodservice Manager at your child’s school.
