Schools find ways to support Sandy Hook

Dec 21st, 2012

LAKE WALES – Local schools have found a variety of ways to show support for Sandy Hook Elementary in the wake of last week’s tragedy.

Bok Academy encouraged students to wear Sandy Hook colors of green and white, and then staged a special photo on the Bok Green (lawn).  Enlarged copies of the photo are being used to collect messages from Bok students and staff, which will be sent to Connecticut.

Other schools in the Lake Wales Charter Schools system also have sponsored activities including “green and white” days, fundraising collections, wearing special ribbons, and a “moment of silence” on Friday (Dec. 21).
