LAKE WALES – Teacher and Lake Wales High School Sewing Club sponsor Wendy Wolford (far left) poses with several club members who happily accepted the donation of two gently used sewing machines, two bags of fabric and $250 in cash from Lake Wales Quilters representative Ellen Hazlett (fourth from left) earlier this month.
The Lake Wales Quilters meet at 1 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at HighPoint Church. The quilting group is open to anyone with an interest in quilting or sewing. The Lake Wales Quilters often “adopt” community sewing projects, including pillowcases for needy children, and charity fundraising quilts.
