Apr 24th, 2012

LAKE WALES – Students, staff and volunteers pose for a group photo at Lake Kissimmee State Park recently (April 12) during a community-wide picnic for special needs students from Lake Wales.

The picnic was a combined effort by the Lake Wales Charter Schools, Club Joy, Our Children’s Academy, and area schools in the Polk County Public Schools system.

“It is so nice to get to know students from our feeder schools,” said Jane Jackson, a teacher at Lake Wales High. “It really helps when our new students have met their teachers and future classmates, and like us!”
