Feb 15th, 2012

LAKE WALES – Janie Howard Wilson Elementary third grader Kelsie Lombard reads with her partner Naeomi Rosado, a student from Lake Wales High. The girls are part of a bi-weekly program that pairs members of the LWHS girls’ reading class with first, second and third grade students.

“Our elementary students are so excited to work with high school students, and look to them as role models,” said April Barnhardt, JHW teacher on special assignment. The high school students help their partners become better readers and work on comprehension.
