Teachers awarded $6,100 in grants

LAKE WALES – Janie Howard Wilson Elementary teachers are all smiles after earning $6,100 in grants from the Lake Ashton community.

Teachers (l-r)  Alicia Gravel, Demrah Frisk, Cristy Land, Sallie Gwinn, Lisa Comparato, Stephanie MacDonald, Elizabeth Anderson, Amy Harris and Catherine Steinbeck wrote several grant proposals, all designed to enhance teaching and student achievement. The money will be used to buy supplies and equipment for the 2012-2013 school year.
